10 SPEEDY Crochet Fingerless Gloves (Easy Patterns)

crochet fingerless gloves

Sure, mittens are cute and all but how are you supposed to text with those things on? I’m never far from my phone, so crochet fingerless gloves are a must-have for me. They’re also good for driving, typing, writing, and drawing.

There are so many amazing free crochet patterns for fingerless gloves out there. It was really hard to choose favorites!

But I’m definitely adding these to my “to-crochet” list. (It’s a mile long) I love that fingerless gloves are so quick and easy. That makes them perfect for last-minute gifts!

Have you ever wondered how to crochet fingerless gloves before? They’re really not that hard! Sometimes they’re worked in the round like a long tube.

Other times you’ll crochet a flat rectangle and seam the long sides together. Either way, they’re really quite simple!

Change up the look with a longer/ shorter cuff, a fancy decorative stitch, or add an embellishment like buttons or straps.

Putting a little thought into customization will help ensure that your handmade gift is well-received and cherished for a long time after!

1. Fantail Stitch Fingerless Gloves

Colorful cake yarn, shell stitches, and half double crochet v-stitches conspire together to make these breathtaking fingerless gloves. The trick to getting each fingerless glove to match is working each one from a separate cake of yarn. Of course, you can always skip that step and just let the colors do their thing. They’ll look great either way!

2. Celtic Weave Fingerless Gloves

This lovely textured design was inspired by the Outlander series. You can channel your own inner Claire (sorry, Jamie not included) with just slip stitches, single crochet, back post, and front post treble crochet. There is even a link to Youtube for the crochet fingerless glove video tutorial if you are new to the Celtic weave stitch!

3. All My Exes Fingerless Mittens

Something about this pattern name makes me want to break out in song. The name was actually inspired by the X-stitch used in the pattern. Rows of X-stitches take turns with rows of half double crochet stitches. The short cuff on these is a nice change of pace from traditional fingerless gloves and it will save you some time too!

4. Horizon Fingerless Gloves

I love this playful glove design! It features a single crochet ribbed cuff and a fun textured bobble stitch center. I love that each of the rows of bobble stitches is a different color. There’s so much room to play with different colors on this one and make each set uniquely suited to the recipient’s taste!

5. Victorian Fingerless Gloves Crochet Pattern

These lacey gloves are oh so pretty and perfect! Unlike most fingerless gloves, they are worked flat in back and forth rows, and then the sides are sewn together. This makes them perfect for people who hate working in rows (and the dreaded slanted seam!). Amazingly, this intricate-looking design is made with just single, half double, and double crochet stitches. These fingerless gloves almost have a victorian look to them
