Historically the turban has been worn for thousands of years. During the 18th and 19th centuries the turban’s popularity grew in European countries. Fast-forward to the 20th century and the turban was revived as a fashion accessory once again. I’m giving you an updated crochet take on retro fashion that was worn a lot during the 50s. This crochet turban pattern includes a full video tutorial to help more visual learners.
This is the perfect pattern for beginner crocheters. The entire pattern is made up of back loop single crochets & a 5 mm hook. No complicated stitches or counting! 5 mm hook

Sl st- Slip stitch
Ch- Chain
Sc- Single crochet
Gauge
11 rows 4 inches
13 blsc = 4 inches
Ch 125 or 40 inches
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each st across
Row 2-16: Ch 1, blsc in each st across

1. Wrap panel evenly around mannequin head, crossing at the front.
2. Cross the two ends once more, with ends lying toward the back of the head. Pin in place to secure.
3. Begging slip stitching the center back of your turban first.
4. Then slip stitch closed the right and left sides.
5. Turn the hat inside out. Place opening top flap on top of the bottom row of sc. Match yarn to the bottom row to sew close. (Please see video)
