These classic chunky crochet mittens will keep your fingers super warm whether you’re shoveling snow or waiting at the bus stop with the kiddos.

For this pattern, I am using Big Twist yarn for Joann. It is a #6 weight yarn. But trust me. This yarn is definitely more of a #5 weight. I have several brands of yarn to compare it to. So if you can’t find this particular yarn. Please feel free to use #5 weight yarn.

If you are looking for a pattern that uses #4 worsted/aran weight yarn, then you have to try my other free crochet mitten pattern HERE. Even though the yarn is thinner, these mittens work up even thinker. It’s one of my most popular patterns.
