How to Connect Yarn while Crocheting & Knitting

Follow these step-by-step instructions to master the magic knot.

Materials Needed:

  • Two pieces of yarn (can be the same or different colors)
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Take the two yarn ends you want to join. I’m using Red & Yellow
  2. Cross your Red yarn under your yellow yarn, forming an X shape.
  3.  Bring the Red yarn back down over the yellow yarn to form a loop with the Red Yarn
  4. Tie a know with your Red yarn

  1. Pull Red yarn to secure
  2. Cross Yellow yarn over your red yarn
  3. Bring the Yellow yarn back up over the red yarn to form a loop with the Yellow yarn
  4. Tie a know with your Yellow yarn

  1. Pull Yellow yarn to secure
  2. Grab both ends Red & Yellow
  3. Pull & slide knots together
  4. Trim Ends

Continue crocheting your project as usual. The magic knot will disappear into your project.
