If your style is anything but basic then you’re probably bored with the bandana options at the store. For a design that’s anything but boring, look no further than this kawaii bat crochet bandana pattern!

The cute bat face hangs upside down from the tip of the triangular bandana. This hair scarf is perfect for the pastel goth aesthetic or for anyone who wishes it was Halloween all year round.

  • Worsted, medium weight #4 yarn in the color of your choice (I used Loops & Threads Eco-Brights in purple)
  • 5 mm crochet hook
  • Safety eyes (optional)
  • Scrap yarn in white and pink for the face (optional)

make the last sl st in the top of the first hdc of row 12, ch 40, sl st to the 2nd ch from the hook and the next 38, fasten off.

Bat Head (video 18:18)

Row 1: Start with a magic circle, ch 1, hdc 9, turn. (9)

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first st & each st across, turn. (18)

Finishing

Sew the head onto the bandana according to the picture

The bat is a little floppy on its own, so we’re going to add some supports, pictured below. 

Attach your yarn to your work at the (1), ch 3 and sl st to the side of the bat head at the (2), fasten off. Repeat on the other side.

Add safety eyes, embroider two little vertical lines in white for the teeth, and embroider two little horizontal lines in pink for the rosy cheeks.
