Seaside Crochet Slouchy Beanie With a Brim (Free)

Crochet slouchy hat pattern

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to crochet, the Seaside Slouchy Beanie! This design is perfect for people who like to blend style, comfort, and a hint of coastal relaxation into their crochet projects. I created this hat with the calming colors of ocean and sea textures in mind; this will soon become your favorite item in your handmade wardrobe.

The Seaside Slouchy Beanie –Its origins

The Seaside Slouchy Beanie was born out of my love for the ocean. There’s something about how the colors of the sea mix—from deep blue water to teal and green waves—that always gets me. I wanted to incorporate that feeling of serenity and motion into a crocheting project, and so chose to do it with Seaside Slouchy Beanie.

In this hat bobble stitches are combined with V-stitches creating a dense texture which reminds me of waves hitting the shore followed by bubbles. The slouchy design creates a relaxed feel, making it a great accessory for cool, breezy days on water or just when you want some coastal look in your outfit.

About This Pattern

This pattern is easy enough for beginners while more advanced crocheters will remain interested as well. Here’s what you can expect:

Stitches Used: Bobble stitch, V-stitch, double crochet, single crochet

Skill Level: Easy

Yarn: I used soft medium weight yarn in shades of blue, teal, and green to represent the colors of the sea. Feel free to play around with your own color scheme!

Size: The pattern has been made to fit an average adult head but can be easily adjusted for better fit.

About the yarn

Friends yarn is 100% wool, #4 weight yarn. The colors of the yarns included in the Friends family are literally friends! This means the color correspond to the same color across the different Friends yarns. If you order the same color number from two different Friends yarns, they will match.

Top Reasons To Love This Beanie

Texture Plus Style: Additionally as opposed to other patterns, bobbles stitches with v stitches result into a unique standout fabric.

Comfort: Besides being stylish, slouchy design is super comfy, which makes it an ideal option for those days when you want to feel warm but fashionable.

Versatility: Though the inspiration for this hat came from seaside hues, you can simply customize it with your best yarn colors so that it matches most outfits and seasons.
