Materials

4 mm hook

Shine worsted weight 1 Black A, 1 Robot B, 1 White C, 2 Serrano D

Stitches

St- stitch

Sl st- slip stitch

Ch- chain

Sc- Single Crochet

Hdc- half double crochet

Dc- double crochet

Rep- Repeat

Sc2tog- Single crochet 2 together

Gauge

16 sc x 16 rows = approximately 4” x 4” 

Sizes US Womens

Small (S) – 5/6

Medium (M) -7/8

Large (L) – 9/10

Instructions for each size will be written like this: S(M, L)

Stitch counts for each size are presented at the end of each round in brackets like this: [S, M, L]

Notes

Ch 1 at the beginning of a round does not count as a stitch. Do not turn at the end of the round. Always keep working in the same direction. 

Color A

Ch 24(28, 32)

Round 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and the next 10(12, 14) sts, hdc next st, dc next 10(12, 14) sts, 5 dc in the last st. Flip your chain upside down. You will now be working underneath the original chain. Dc next 10(12, 14) sts, hdc next st, sc next 10(12, 14) sts, 4 sc in last st, sl st to join. [52, 60, 68]

Round 2: Ch 1, sc next 22(26, 30) sts, 2 sc next 5 sts, sc next 22(26,30) sts, 2 sc next 3 sts, sl st to join. [60, 68, 76] 

Round 3: Ch 1, hdc next 22(26, 30) sts, *2 hdc next st, hdc next st, rep from * 4 more times, hdc next 22(26, 30) sts, *2 hdc next st, hdc next st, rep from * 2 more times, sl st to join. [68, 76, 84] 

Round 4: Ch 1, sc next 11(13, 15) sts, hdc next st, dc next 10(12, 14) sts, *2 dc next st, dc next 2 sts, rep from * 4 more times, dc next 10(12, 14) sts, hdc in the next st, sc next 11(13, 15) sts, *2 sc next st, sc next 2 sts, rep from * 2 more times, sl st to join. [76, 84, 92]

Round 5: Ch 1, sc each st around, sl st to join.

Sides

Row 6: (Working in the back loops only) Ch 1, hdc in next 8(10, 12) sts, sc next 23(25, 27) sts, sc2tog 3 times, sc next 22(24, 26) sts, hdc last 17(19, 21) sts, sl st to join. [73, 81, 89] 

Round 7: (with color B) Ch 1, dc in next 9(11, 13) sts, sl st next 18(20, 22) sts,  *sc2tog, sc next, rep from * 3 more times, sl st next 18(20, 22)  sts, dc next 8(10,12)  sts, dc2tog, *dc next st, dc2tog, rep from * 1 more time, sl st to join. [66, 74, 82]

Round 8: Ch 1, sc each st around, sl st to join. Fasten off.

Color Stripe

With Color C attach yarn to the back heel between color A&B. Complete running sl sts (aka surface slip stitches) around. Stay as close to color B as possible.

Please do this loosely. If it’s too tight, it will change the size of your shoe!!! If needed, go up a hook size.

Color D. Attach yarn 3rd sts back from join. (To the right of join)

Round 9:  Ch 1, sc next 15(17, 19) sts, *sc2tog, sc next 15(17, 19) sts, repeat from * 2 more times, sl st to join. [63, 71, 79]

Round 10: Ch 1, sc next 28(32, 36) sc2tog 3 times, sc next 29(33, 37) sts, sl st to join. [60, 68, 76]

Round 11: Ch 1, sc next 26(30, 34) sts,  *sc2tog, sc next, rep from * 3 more times, sc next 22(26, 30) sts, sl st to join. [56, 64, 72]

Round 12: Ch 1, sc next 21(25, 29) sts, sc2tog, *sc next 2 sts, sc2tog, rep from 2 more times, sc next 21(25, 29) sts, sl st to join. [52,60,68]

Round 13: Ch 1, sc next 17(21, 25) sts,  *sc2tog, sc next, rep from * 5 more times, sc next 17(21, 25) sts, sl st to join. [46, 54, 62]

Round 14: Ch 1, sc next 14(18, 22) sts,  *sc2tog, sc next, rep from * 5 more times, sc next 14(18, 22) sts, sl st to join. [40, 48, 56]

Round 15: (with color A) Ch 1, sl st around, sl st to join. Fasten off. 

Toe Flap

Use markers for toe flap

Working in the center 10 front loop stitches of the toe area

Row 1: (with color A) Ch 1, sc across, turn

Row 2: Sc2tog, sc next 6, Sc2tog, turn [8]

Row 3: Sc2tog, sc next 4, Sc2tog, turn [6]

Row 4: Sc2tog, sc next 2, Sc2tog,  fasten off, leave tail for sewing [4]

Sew flap between colors B &D

Heel Tag

Attach yarn 3 stitches from center.

Rows 1-6: Ch 1, sc same st, Sc next 4 sts, turn

Fast off when complete. Fold tag over and sew top edge to shoe

Tongue

Turn shoe WS (wrong side). Count 3 rows down from the center opening of shoe, then move horizontally and attach color D between colors B & D.

Ch 10 

Row 1: ch 1, 13 sc across ch-sp, turn.

Row 2: ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc next 11 sts, 2 sc last st, turn. (15)

Row 3: ch 1, sc each st across, turn.

Rows 4-12: Repeat row 3

Row 13: sc2tog, sc next 11 sts, sctog, turn. (13)
