Crochet Hooks & Premier Yarn From The Dollar Tree!

For those who are landing on my blog for the very first time. I’m Alysha & I am obsessed with buying ALL crochet related gadgets. Thankfully, I have been able to put my addiction to good use. I’m able to review all these items, so you don’t have to damage your wallet.

Recently my coworker purchased a set of crochet hooks for me from our local Dollar Tree. I was shocked!!! Last time I check, they never carried hooks. So of course I had to take another trip to see what else is new in my store.

The Dollar Tree has come such a long way. It has become one of my favorite place to shop for crafts.

Typically, they have the most generic craft items. You know, the craft activities only small children would love. But over the past 2 year, they have become a force to be reckoned with. You name it, they have it.

There are entire YouTube channels and blogs dedicated to creating masterpieces just from this store. I can’t lie. I have been sucked down the rabbit hole of watching these types of videos lately.

1. Crafters Square Crochet Hooks

6 sizes are available for these plastic crochet hooks: 4.0mm, 4.5mm, 5.0mm, 5.5mm, 6.0mm, & 6.5mm. Each pack comes in a pack of two.

Cons

Not study (Don’t recommend with heavy yarns)

Pros:

Head of the hook very similar to Clover Amour crochet hooks
Works with yarn nicely

2. Premier Just cotton yarn

I’ve noticed a lot of Premier yarn at the Dollar Tree Lately. Many of the brand I’m seeing exclusively at the store. I have searched Premier’s Website for this yarn and have yet to find it. Thankfully you can find it for only $1 at Dollar Tree

This yarn is not my favorite yarn. If you compare this yarn with Premiers Home Cotton yarn, it is thinner. Premier home yarn is a “fuller” strand. Below are some comparison pictures.

Also when I worked up a swatch, the Just Cotton yarn worked up slightly smaller than the Premier home yarn. Also, I notice the unattractive gaps withing the stitches.
